What is Bright Light Therapy?

THE MEANING OF LIGHT

Light therapy can reset your body’s Circadian Rhythm, which helps you get a better night’s sleep and feel naturally awake and energized throughout the day.

In an attempt to better ourselves, we try to obey these mantras: We sleep eight hours a night; we take our daily vitamins; we try to exercise and meditate. But what if there was something else we need?

The rising and setting of the sun is one of the few constants in our daily lives. The cycle of day and night regulates everything from the ocean tides to each cell in our body. Our response to light is primal.

And as neuroscientists are discovering, harnessing the power of bright light could provide benefits to our mind and body.

A MINI SUN, ON YOUR DESK

Circadian Optics lamps are an easy and effective way of getting exposure to bright light indoors. We use LED lights to provide bright light while filtering out dangerous UV rays.

LIGHT VIA EYES

When bright light enters the eyes, it stimulates specialized receptors cells that sets your body clock and regulates our sleep/wake cycle, energy and mood levels.

You don’t need to stare at the lamp, the light must reach your eyes to have any effect. This means you can use a Circadian Optics while you’re working at the computer, watching TV, reading, etc. You should notice positive benefits after using Circadian Optics for a week.

TURN ON YOUR DAY

The best time to use your Circadian Optics lamp is in the morning. Exposure to bright light in the early part of the day stimulates receptors in your eyes and sets your body clock for the day. Morning light is most effective in helping us to be awake, alert and energetic during the day.
